James Nottingham demonstrating one way to get children thinking more – through the use of Philosophy for Children (P4C) and the Learning Pit. The film was made in 2011 and interestingly, the children still remember the session almost a decade later! James used the Philosophy for Children (P4C) approach to demonstrate how we can take children into the learning pit by creating cognitive challenge. James is incredibly skilled at P4C and socratic questioning and it was great to see the impact of his questions or ‘thinking out loud’ on the pupils’ thinking.
